About the nursery

Topsham House based in ‘Desford, Leicestershire’, has been a fundamental provider of childcare and education since 1996. Recognising a need for quality childcare and early years provision within the surrounding area, the nursery was opened by former Primary School Teacher, Susan Maxted. The last 27 years have been dedicated to providing the highest standard of care and early years education.

The Nursery manager, Karen Haylett, joined Topsham House when it first opened in 1996. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in childcare and is supported by a committed team.

The staff team at Topsham House is our greatest asset and we work in close partnership with parents to give each and every child the opportunity to grow and reach their full potential. We strive to achieve the best possible outcomes for all the children in our care.

Our high-quality service ensures children develop socially, intellectually, culturally, physically, and emotionally in a homely, caring and secure environment.

Our environment and learning experiences are tailored for each child in each room, and work towards the principles to meet the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) curriculum.
